PASTOR'S CORNER

Radical Worship

“Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament! Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness! Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and harp! Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!”

Psalms 150:1-6

When we worship it is an expression of gratitude and appreciation to God. In the book of Psalms worship is expressed through triumphs and failures of life the Psalmist faced. David gives us the steadfast example of praising God in the good times and the bad. Through worship we learn that it is not because we are righteous, for we know our God is righteous and He dwells in worship. We desire to meet Him there and bask in His presence.

The Psalmist urges the congregation to praise God with music and dancing, naming nine types of musical instruments. For this reason, Psalm 150 is also called "the musicians' psalm.

If you have breath of the Spirit of God in you and can clap your hands, or if you can play an instrument, break through and enter into the courts with gladness! Make a joyful noise, turn it up and glorify God! Let us make it radical and extreme!

The psalmist David said,” I was glad when they said unto me let us go to the house of the Lord” (ps.122:1)
